Be careful what you wish for. Todd Venning was not a flamboyant glad hander. He did his job and did it well. Anyone who has lived through the numerous failed city managers in this city would know, he was head and shoulders above most that preceeded him. All this nonsense about his personality is so wrong. We have a mayor out there almost daily promoting the city and while some may not like his style, that is what Mayors are supposed to do. I believe this is a real set back for the city. Todd's expertise turned this city around financially. I didn't always agree with him but you can't deny he was a worker with his nose to the grindstone, and he produced great results. Many of his critics don't even live in our city and never had to incur the irratic tax increases we endured at the hands of horrible city managers. I believe in the long run those that wanted him out will regret it.
