Sad to say, press releases, (compartmentalization of information) are the only way to get answers from City leadership, I hope the family of these murder victims sue City of Newburgh, for not doing an appropriate impact study, before closing an Engine company in the downtown area. Now a family tragedy has occurred. Although you cannot say that is the cause technically, but seasoned professionals know that anytime cuts to manpower, bring on response delays, which transcend to increased fire volume due to lack of a first arriving properly staffed pumper! There will be more tragic events like this. Imagine if that were one of the high rises in the city with the elderly? Forgarty homes, UDC on lake drive? It would have been even more horrible if you could imagine. Please Newburgh, stand up for yourselves. We're going to go home, no kamikazes over here with a city government who doesn't even care about it's employees and most importantly it's taxpayers
