Subject: Obituary...Ricky Groman

Committed suicide 1/03. I know that some of the best times of his life took place while he was a kid and a member of the Seaview Pool. Since he was so entertaining (to say the least), everyone has at least one memorable "Ricky moment." I was fortunate enough to have many. Keep playin' the blues my brother...Your soul is tortured no longer..Looking forward to you making me laugh in the next life...

May G-d watch over his tortured soul.

Ricky was such a funny friend at the pool club. Me, him & Eric Ende used to pal around in the 1970's.
I remember Ricky jumping on my dining room table, to escape my terribly ferocious mini Collie. That memory has stuck in my mind for at least 20+ years!

What was so horrible about his life that he felt he had to end it?

He will be missed!

I remember Ricky being such a nice kid. He was always trying to make us laugh. He tried extra hard to get laughs out of the girls and he usually succeeded! He was a sweet person and I was so sorry to hear about his death. I didn't know he was dealing with so much sadness in his life. My heart is heavy...he is a person associated with some of my happiest childhood memories. How is his brother Glenn???

Glenn is married, has two kids, and lives somewhere in Pennsylvania?
Ricky and I remained friends, after all these years, to the very end. Wendy who?

>I heard that his life was pretty desperate in the end- I was best friends with his ex girlfriend Denise. I always liked Ricky, he was a funny, crazy guy- I remember him singing Heavy Metal in the Battle of the Bands, and have a very vivid image of him singing the Kinks "You Really Got Me". I also went to my first concert with him- he puked out the car window all the way to the Meadowlands (Before the Show!)- He was really talented and it is a shame his life ended the way it did. I still keep in touch with Denise, and thats another story in itself!! Seems misery loves company- Rest In Peace Rick!!! ROCK ON!

Jack, every year since 2003, on the eve of Yom Kippur I light a Yahrzeit candle on his behalf as well as for my parents. I know that he was as devout as I am/was (not at all) but I do it because it makes me feel better and for some reason..I think that he'd get a "kick" out of it.

Ricky is thought about often and remembered fondly in mine and Barry's everyday life...He still makes us laugh hysterically and smile wide..He will have a special place in both our hearts FOREVER!!
