Subject: Brook Pictures

I was looking at the website of pictures of the Brook. Yes, Joe Serena (my uncle) was one of the bosses of the Brook. But, also my grandfather, Lou Lombardi and another man, Abe Mayback were owners as well. I have fond memories of the Brook from when I was growing up. I remember going to the day camp and playing scavenger hunts in the back where there are now houses along Padergate North.

I used to live next door ( on East 83rd Street) to Robert and Angela Lombardi. Thay had two kids Gina and Louis. Are they your cousins? Do you still hear from them? Please let me know.

Yes, Bob and Angela Lombardi are my aunt and uncle. Gina and Louis are cousins. I do hear from them. Louis is on facebook.

i lived on east 82nd between ave's k and l....the brook was my summer home..... an institution... the best summers were spent there. who remembers... sub teen and teen sports posted on the blackboard outside the nurse's station. water polo played by the lifeguards. norm and the mic. myra the nurse and the bactine. late night swims. those knishes that must have been years old, cooked by steve. food tickets. someone always needing an ambulance from the men's a-side paddleball team. and the best..shaving cream and eggs on the last day. if my kids could only comprehend what those days meant to me...sadly they are gone,along with the pagoda..... how lucky we were.. for those of us who had a pass to be punched at the door.....
