Subject: Artist of note: Born Feb. 6, 1914 - Thurl Ravenscroft

Thurl Ravenscroft: A name not well know, but he had a voice heard by everyone. Wikipedia described his voice as "basso profundo", an apt description, indeed.

He sang the bass chorus on both Stuart Hamlin's and Rosemary Clooney's version of "The Old House", and who doesn't remember Tony the Tiger saying Kellog's Corn Flakes are "Grrreat !"

Every Christmas season, one can hear "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch" on the radio.

This is a link to The Sons of the Pioneers singing "Timber Trail" It's from a RCA album, and features additional vocal and orchestral accompaniment. (Fortunately the producer was careful not to make the album sound "symphonic"). Mr Ravenscroft's voice can be clearly hear on this one.
