Both one and two were played by actual existing bands, number one by Flash Cadillac & The Continental Kids and number two by Sha Na Na.

Number one, from 1973 is probably one of the most well known rock and roll movies of all time, making stars of several young actors. It also featured Harrison Ford in one of his early roles.

Number two, from 1978 is the screen version of the successful Broadway play. This movie has been watched by generations and anyone who has not seen it must be from another planet, or at least from some country without televisions.

Number four, which wax not as successful as the other three, is also from 1978. It is a bio pic of rock & roll deejay Alan Freed and also features a very young Jay Leno. Even though The Chesterfields were formed just for this movie, they were actually offered a recording contract after singing together in this movie. You can watch the entire movie on YouTube.
