Elvis had stopped to eat at The Little Shamrock Cafe and I was in class in School. I got a call to come to the office for an emergency phone call. When I answered the phone a dear friend that worked at the local Hwd Store told me Elvis was at the Little Shamrock. I immediately hung up and told the school secretary that I had an emergency at homw. Ran out to my car and headed across town. (little town maybe 3 miles to where he was. When I pulled into the parking lot Elvis and his Companions were just leaving. I walked up and shook his hand and told him I was a big fan and then I asked "can I see your guitar?" DUH - - don't know why I didn't ask for an autograph. He opened the truck and then a guitar case and there was that acoustic guitar with the tooled leather cover lying there. It was like I was looking at the Holy Graile - - - then they said they had to get on the road for a Gig at Taylor Hall ?I think? Lots of artists played there back in the early R&R daze. I'll s'hup now.
