Only a little over 2 mil? I was diagnosed with non A-non B in 1975. Have chirossis and have started into the organ decline we see with diabetes, high blood pressure, hormonal difficulties yada, yada. I was told I had 6 months in 1998, still here. Yes it is a pain in the ass. The worst part is feeling that you're out there alone. But your not. Been non responsive 3 times. Not a transplant candidate as I'm over 50 with no dependants. So I take each day as it comes, some days are good and some really suck. But remember that what your looking at is a permenant soluition to a temporary problem. As to the disease there are so many new medications in stage 3 trials I figure I'll end up cured from the HCV before I kick the bucket. It's what else I lost that I was hanging onto that brought me down. I have had to reaccess my life and what I want to do with what is left of it. And yes the last time they rolled me into the ER with vomiting blood I prayed to get off this planet. I've been on full disability for over 10 years and went from a 6 figure income to SSDI payments. Lost the stuff, the wife etc. Yet here I am still going. So start your day over and hit some HCV support groups or some open NA meetings as most of the NA groups have loads of Heppers there. But get out of yourself. Its the only way. I know.
