Date Posted: 19:23:50 03/13/09 Fri About 2 weeks to go. Let me know if you are attending. Basically, we will start the whole trip with a "comfortable" campout at the "Institute of Liesure Arts" in White Cloud, Michigan on Friday night (March 27th). Some of you may know about the Institute, but for those that don't, it is a nice little cabin in semi remote area between White Cloud and Brohman. You can camp indoors (indoor camping will cost $) or outdoors. There will be a campfire for you enjoyment. Those who would like, can take a ride on the zipline, explore the area, play cards, watch TV- whatever. We will start meeting there at 6:00 pm - come when you can. There is a refridgerator, stove, hand pump well, etc. WE WILL KEEP THE ALCOHOL COMSUMPTION TO A "MINIMUM". If you can't make it until Saturday (March 28th), then we will meet at Hodenpyl Dam (around 9am) to leave a few vehicles, kayaks and to claim our campsite. Then we will go to Coates Rd. and start our hike. We will hike the 10 miles or so north to our kayaks and camp overnight. Then get up the next morning, pack and ride our kayaks (or canoes) back to the start. There will be a cost of $10 per participant for the trip. You will need a Manistee National Forest Vehicle Sticker and if you will stay indoors at the Institute, then we will ask for another $5. The cost will cover the cost of organizing the trip and for the website, etc. Please RSVP if you will be coming. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
