Subject: Robert in the Royal Navy

I know that he was in the Royal Navy for 4 years I think but, does anyone know what he did in it? And if anyone is from the UK will they let someone from the US join the Royal Navy?
If they became a citizen of the UK, of course.
becuase I really want to join it when I graduate,in memory of Robert Newton

I don't know about Royal Navy policies (although I have a friend whose father, an American citizen, served in the British Air Force during the Korean War, I think). Robert Newton served as a steward aboard a minesweeper, a very dangerous mission during WWII.
