Sounds as though it could be Temptation Harbour (1947). But good luck trying to find it anywhere. I have been trying to locate it on DVD or VHS and it does not seem to exist. Post a reply if you do happen to find it. I would definitely be interested in a copy.

Barrie,

That sounds like Temptation Harbour to me too. Are you lucky enough actually to have seen it? I haven't. If anyone knows how/where to get a copy of it on DVD or tape, please do let us know! Thanks!

Hmmm...........I have seen this film just once, and it seems like a most of the RN films come on TV fairly regularly here in the UK, but not this one.

at first it sounded like oliver twist to me becuase you said that he murdered a woman, then you said it was on the railway and i thought of Odd Man Out. i've read about Temptation Harbour and that sounds close to it. You might try Amazon.com and see if they have a copy.

No, Elizabeth, It' not on Amazon or 'anywhere'. We've all looked for quite some time now. The only hope we have is if they decide to release it in the future (or if someone taped it from a tv presentation). I had even tried to contact the production company about two years ago and still no luck. Everyone will certainly hear an announcement if I ever do find it. I will type my message in CAPS!!! You'll hear the yelling over the internet.

I believe "This Happy Breed," "Around the World in 80 Days," and "Les Miserables" are also available on DVD, or they all have been at one time or another. Isn't "Oliver Twist" available too? I'd be surprised if it wasn't! Also, keep your eye on the TV calendar; they often show his movies on TCM, so you can record them for yourself.

And don't forget, they're showing a 105-minute version of "Jamaica Inn" on June 25! The longest DVD version we know of so far runs only 98 minutes. Did they recover some additional footage, or will the extra seven minutes be devoted to trivia from host Robert Osborne? Stay tuned!

TV-NOW has this Happy Breed listed for 12:30 pm
on July 8, I pretty sure it it Eastern Standard Time.
Below is a link with his TV schedule for the next month,
I think the site gets updated once a week.
