Subject: OK Pards, I'm the Captain's Cousin!

Well, as Burleson did not work out I went hunting after new personas by working on the 1870 & 1880 Censuses for leads and then working backwards. As a result I got good data on four more characters. Three of which may be of use to you guys (I will post them separately), but not the fourth -- 'cause I'm him! Here goes:

A(ugust) F(rancis) Herring corp/sgt 36, Mississippi, Parker Co. (nr. Fort Worth), Farmer, married, 2ch

I believe A F Herring may be a poor cousin of M.D. Herring (my net worth is $700, versus the Captains $20,021, just a slight difference). August Herring also matches my age pretty well (I'm 37) and since I've learned that Doug and I have the same alma mater, I figure we my as well be cousins!

I will of course not take advantage of being the Captain's cousin (much).
