Good work you two! I am going to drive through there on Thursday getting a feel for the area.

BTW, as you likely noted from KC's good work on the census - the Baptist religion was very strong in TX at that time (and still is today). Many of us were other denominations as well, having come from various places but it would not be surprising that folks just went to church at whatever was fairly close.

Both of our chaplains in the 15th TX were Baptist.

Remind me to tell you a great story of mine about being stranded with two flat tires on a central Texas back road and nothing within miles but a fundamentalist Baptist church.
