Peter � just to put the record straight, two successive electrical breakdowns resulting in missing the only available Santander ferry (and me, waiting in Plymouth) were the final straws but it was the combination of these with many other serious misgivings (you know some of them) which led to my late withdrawal. No public details, a thirty-five year old friendship is on the line here, but I�m delighted a replacement for me could be found so quickly. Good luck to them and all entrants � I�ll be following the tour with great interest and huge disappointment over my absence.
