Rex's eyes were focused soley on the prize- the tawny tuff of fur serving as the only barrier between him and the throat of his nemisis. As Duty's own throat was spared, Rex removed any and all attention from the other dog and placed it upon his attack. As his paws landed upon the ground he quickly pivoted, throwing his hindquarters sharply to the left as the rest of his body quickly snapped into place, fangs baring and jaw working as he moved in for the Coyote's neck. He fought the temptation to sink his canines into the throat of the coyote- one fatal bite could finish him off.. but the goal here was not to kill the enemy- merely scare him off and if possible cripple him.
