Hey guys,
I'm not sure why this has turned the way that it has, but I hope that everyone involved will step back and think a minute.

To begin with it is not a pig farm, It is a hog farm as in Harley Davidson motorcycles or "Hawg Farm". There are no pigs involved as far as I can tell and I have played there several times.

Next as for comparing us to other bands. We have been playing in and around middle Georgia for about 12 or 13 years and I don't know of any band that we have any kind of a real rivalry with. We play our music the way that we play it and they play theres the way they play it. If you like us, and I hope that you do, I'm glad. If you like some other band better than us then more power to you. We live in a free country thank God. I just hope that you can appreciate what we have been doing for all of these years.

As for smart asses. I am the biggest, literally, one in the band. I also have the shortest temper, but I am working on all of that. I hope that we haven't offended you in any way, but if we have obviously you were listening at some point.

Now I ordinarily would not respond to comments about other bands on our site, since you brought up some of our friends let me tell you a thing or two. To begin with, the Loose Screws are a good band and one of the last times that they played at the Shamrock some of us were there. In fact, we played with them on stage, so I don't think there is any animosity there, at least I did'n feel it when I hugged every one of the ones that I knew well and shook hands with the rest. Finally, at last count and at one time or another there are four former Buttercats playing with the Loose Screws. Bands are just that way. People move on and that is that. I had a great time playing with those guys, even though as you know it is hard to cook in somebody else's kitchen. I still think that we did ok on unfamiliar equipment.

Finally, let me say that I hope this puts this whole thing to rest. We are a band and we play for people, ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE! I have no delusions that we are going to make it big in the music business, but if lightening strikes then so be it. We have, however, achieved some sort of notoriety on some small level and that is good enough for me. I don't play in the hopes that I will become a star. I don't even really thrive on the attention, but if I play somewhere, ANYWWHERE, and I touch one person that comes up to me and says I really enjoyed that, then that is quite enough for me.

If you follow music and bands, especially the big ones, you will find that in there early days they all, at one time or another, have played in places that they wish they had not. Or maybe it is not even that. Maybe it is that they can look back and see where they have been and track their progress. That is what I have done while writing this post back to you. I remember starting out playing with another band at a club affectionately known as ":The Bottom." It was a small place filled with regulars and not much else. The people were good, the beer was cold, and I got a lot of experience and good friends out of the deal. I don't consider that a low point in my career, but I can see that from there I am playing in much bigger venues and being compensated now a lot better than that club could afford then.

I don't think that we have hit rock bottom by playing the Roddy Hog Farm, and we certainly are not on the way out. We are making plans for next year already and I hope for many more years to come. This is a childhood dream that I had and I am finally getting to live it out, on some level at least. How many of you can say that?

I wish that you would let us know who you are so that we can talk to you more about this on a personal level instead having to air some sort of grievence on the soundboard. We could have explained all of this with much less drama than this has created.

Thanks for your interest and hopefully we will se you at our next show.

P.S. By the way, I still see some of those first people that I played in front of at "The Bottom" now and then in other places that we play. They remain good friends still today. And as for how we got the gig at the Hog Farm. those people had to have seen us somewhere. Infact they did see us in a club. That means that they were partying right next to you at some point. How's that for putting things into perspective.
