Unfortunately, I can't give you much hope. John married at midlife, and soon discovered he'd made a big mistake. His wife, Mary "Molly" Vazielle, was a spoiled widow accustomed to taking it easy. John took her on a few preaching trips, but he marvelled at how many things she could find to complain about. They separated after a few years, and had no children.
