Subject: New Year's Eve 1956---with Maureen's permission and awakening memories.

Maureen is beginning to remember the details.
This is what we have this far, referred to as:

Phase One.

The girls were welcomed to Maureen's house to spend
a quiet NYE. Her parents were out and she had been given
permission to have a small party.
Several had been invited to spend the night.
No alchohol or boys were envolved, just food, pop, music
and an absence-of-all-chaperones small get together.
We were very nice girls and our parents
trusted us.

My parents let me take their car rather than
have to drop me off, then need to come to get me the next
morning. Because I was a very nice girl and they trusted
me.

You can see several photos from that evening on various
pages on the Class of 58 photo gallery. In the photos,
there is Maureen, Sue, Mary Lou, and Margie.
Jackie (Karen's cousin) was there and there more, but I can't remember who. (if anyone remembers, please enlighten
Maureen and I here, or by email---on second thought, maybe you would rather not)
Karen was in North Dakota with her parents.

Maureen had set up a tape recorder in a corner behind a large chair and left it to capture any secret conversations
that might go on.

Music, gossip, dancing and a few other innocent party
fun was the order of the evening. We were young, lively and very nice girls so nothing mischievious went on.

The evening was off and the fun had begun.

Maureen, you agree with those memories, so far????
