I like that video. It's funny toward the end. When Steve Perry's pouring his heart out over coffee, and the guys from the band are sitting around the table. One by one, they get up and leave. He looks at them like "What the . . . ." Some friends! He looks so sad I want to come through the screen, and give him a big hug & kiss.

I Am Theresa Poling From Wichita Kansas USA and I as a big Journey Fan do miss your Singing. I know your other Fans Miss you also and Want to hear you sing Again. I wish I could watch you on You Tube and Feel like I am in one of your Old Journey Videos Belting it out with you. I have one Journey CD and it's The Greatest Hits Cd. I just thank God FOR YOU Every day and Night. When I go to work and go into my Breakroom where I clock into go to work at and hear a old Journey Song it just makes my Day. I have had for the last few weeks or so have had Journey songs playing in my Head and It's just Amazing how that happend. Just a couple more days and cd players will be getting a new workout to Steve's 'the very best of' cd. Could this be a prelude to what's new to come? Crossing fingers! 11 more days until 'Happy sexy nice Birthday Steve!!!!' I hope Steve has the sexiest nicest birthday this year. He will always be hot! I've seen him perform 3 times (2 Journey and 1 ftlosm) Each time I wanted to chase him around the stage some more. Come on back Steve, I might be able to finally catch you! running and wii fit baby lol. for the record, per say, FTLOSM concert kicked the Journey concerts ASS! Steve was marvelous, fun and he looked like he was just having a blast at his pace. It was just awesome. I hated to see the night end. The Journey concerts deafened me (huh?) Steve makes a point to look out into every audience, lights on them. I believe that FTLOSM, he really got to see them! it was great. Happy Sexy nice birthday Steve, it's time to rock and roll!!!

I want to thank those for the making of this Greatest Hits DVD. It was truly amazing to look back at glimpses of Journeys career starting with Greg Rollie and Steve Perry. The only thing that was disappointing about this DVD is that it was only 74 minutes long and it was recorded on a 120 minute DVD. I wished you could have filled the entire disk with more fabulous songs because I know there's a lot more video stuff on Journey. Nonetheless, I love the fact that I now have it to add to my small collection of Journey video stuff.

I can't wait for the new release of the Houston, Texas concert on DVD coming out soon. And I hope it's the whole 90 minute concert version and not the shorter one hour one. I also understand that there might be a Raised on Radio concert on DVD soon too. All I can say is, "Here's my money, give me that DVD ;-)..

What I can't understand is why there was never any concert video stuff released of Journey througout their whole career. Just think of the money they could have made from the all sales of their concerts caught on video. The only thing that's out there to be bought, that I know of, is this DVD, Journey 2001 with Steve Augeri and, if you can still find it on VHS, Journey Frontiers and Beyond (a documentary 1983). I really wished that I had recorded all of Journeys videos ever made on MTV. I truly miss seeing them

The only other stuff out the to be had is mostly bootleg video's shot by amateurs. Some of them are good and others are horrible. The only professionally shot stuff that I currently own is the 1981 Tokyo Japan concert and the 1981 Houston Texas Concert, sponsored by MTV (short version), you know, the one that isn't out yet :-)

My grandest wishes before I die?
1. All of Journeys' MTV video's and Steve Perry singles like "Oh Sherri" on a one, two or however many DVD disc set. MY money is already waiting to be spent on this release. Name your price :)

2. All of your professionally shot video concerts throughout Journey/Steve Perrys' career released on separate DVD's. One for each concert. My money is already waiting to be spent on all these DVD's when they are released. Name your price :) Please take my money so that I can relive the sheer pleasure and memeories of this phenominal rock group.

3. The directors cut (90 minutes) of VH1's "Behind the Music" with Journey (I know it's out there).

I can't understand how such a rare talented group like Journey and the amazing voice of Steve Perry has, for the most part, never been offered, recorded at concerts or sold on VHS or DVD. Why? He is not only a pleasure to hear but also, according to my wife, pleasing on the eyes. For me, his is full of tremendous energy, intense emotion and an absolute pleasure to watch as he moves around the stage.

I saw Journey's last concerts in Hawaii in September 1983 at the Blaisdale's theatre just before they abruptly broke up. He did 5 concerts there in one week. I saw the first and third concerts. Now I've been to a lot of concerts but Journey was, BY FAR, the best I've ever seen, period. I sure got my moneys worth, and then some. And it wasn't just Steve Perry.

The whole band was top notch at what they did, in my opinion. Neal Schon, Jon Cain, Steve (machine gun) Smith and Ross Valorie. With the exception of Ross Valorie on bass, the rest of the band was so talented that each could and did do a solo performance while on stage. Truly amazing. Name any other band that could do that. I can't think of any.

Well enough from me, I guess. Oh, one message to Steve Perry. Please climb back in the saddle just one more time. Do it while you can. You and me are getting old. You 55 and me almost 48. I'm sure you still have it in you. I saw your performaces with the new band back in 1994. You were spectacular. There's no reason for you not to. Hold you head high once again. Remember what your mom said. "Journey". Go back to Journey. Your mom must have been an amazing person. I've real a lot about you so I think I know what's in your head. I think if you and Journey were managed properly, you'd still be together. That's my true feeling on what happened to Journey and you.

I just want to say that I have been a Steve Perry fan for 22 years. I first heard his voice when I was 12 years old. I still get excited every time I hear him sing. I have two daughters ages 9 and 11. Ever since they first heard him sing they listen to him all the time. The songs he sings, has never gotten old. I think everyone who is a fan of Steve, needs to own a copy of Escape/Live in Houston Concert CD/DVD. It is really awesome. The DVD of Journeys Greatest Hits and The essential is great also.

Excellent, Magnificent & best money ever spent! Hi my name is Carolina I am 34yrs old. When I first saw Journey it was on MTV, I was 9yrs old & well I thought that was beautiful music I was hearing & seeing a gorgeous angel appear b4 me! I have been in love with Mr.Steve Perry & his voice since then but was crushed when he sung Oh, sherrie cause it was made known that she was his real life girlfriend so my heart was broken. Ofcourse I was a child then I didn't know no better... Well my hear it is still broken due to the fact that I never went to see any concerts or owned any cassettes (video or audio) of this wonderfull man & band. I now am a mother of 4 beautiful girls who went shopping with me and saw a tear run down my face when I saw the DVD that they bought it for me so long story short I can say LOUD & PROUDLY that Mr. Steve Perry I own a part of you & my 4 girls whom range in age from (9-17) are your newest fans & may I add have been hogging the dvd they watch it b4 going off to school, when they get home from school up untill bedtime & all weekend long. So in conclusion I'd like to say keep those dvd's coming they have now asked me to fill them in on the 80's from my point of view. So I say "you had to be there to really respect & appreciate real music". The memories remain always & forever!

Steve Perry and Journey have always been my favorite artist/music group. My two boys know this, and for a surprise, bought me, out of the blue, the Journey DVD. I just loved it - brought back memories to this 40ish, 80's girl. My younger son just loves it too and will sit with me and sing along to the whole DVD. Steve Perry, please get back with Journey soon. Journey is performing in Tampa in the next month or so and I would love to go if "only" Steve Perry is the lead!!!! P.S. As I sit & remember all of the times that you have made us smile & cry. I still can't believe your really gone,but your voice lives on in my soul,& heart. I Can Never get enough of any of your cd's All of which i have. The new Journey is good,& I attend so that I can reminence of the past,(dam,I need a life.)but I believe there is only one man that can fill the shoes of Journey Front Man,& that is only Steve Perry. Ever since you made your appearence on the Walk Of Fame, I have been so enthraulled in trying to read anything that i can get my hands on about Steve. Its been way too long,since we have heard anything about you. I enjoyed all that i read when you gave your interview to Fan Alysium. Just wish we could get more. I am from Mexico and my english is not good,but i like very much the news of Steve Perry.

For 21 years that I listen to Journey's songs with Steve as vocalist remain fasinado with the power of his your voice and with the interpretation that it he does. That shaft, the date for my is the best singer who exists.

Taste gives me very much that continue working, since Steve is an icon of the decade of them 80's and for the grand thing that is he. it he must not get lost in the time but he(it) evolves since as want it but without his fans forget us.

This new DVD is a great idea since I possess(rely on) this video that consegui in them 80's in format vhs but in DVD and remasterizado is something grand and especially that it is the disc one of the best ESCAPES. Also serious good that were throwing something similar for the disc RAISED on RADIOI since for my this disc it is the number 1 of all.

Steve continues as that in Mexico you have many fans that you apresiamos very much thank you for everything.

Me da mucho gusto que continue trabajando, ya que Steve es un icono de la decada de los 80´s y por lo grandioso que es él no debe perderse en el tiempo sino que evolucione como el lo quiera pero sin olvidarse de nosotros sus fans.

Este nuevo DVD es una gran idea ya que yo cuento con este video que lo consegui en los 80´s en formato vhs pero en DVD y remasterizado es algo grandioso y sobre todo que es el disco ESCAPE uno de los mejores. Tambien seria bueno que lanzaran algo parecido para el disco RAISED on RADIO
ya que para mi este disco es el número 1 de todos.

My boyfriend introduced me to journey. He went out and bought the greastest hits dvd and got me to watch it. I sat in a trance the entire movie. I had never heard a voice so beautiful, sweet, innocent, and tranquilizing. From that day on I have watched the dvd everyday and I am still amazed at Steve Perry. He is the sexiest man in america and with the most delightful voice. The only thing i regret is not knowing who journey was sooner. Journey was the all time best band!!!

There are no words to express my gratitude. Didn't have the courage to tell the love of my life how I felt nearly 30 years ago. Cried to every song by Journey through the Steve Perry years. Finally got in touch with "the one who got away" and he sent me a CD that he said made him cry whenever he thought of me. I could have guessed it before I got it. Journey "Greatest Hits". Turns out you gave our pain a voice all those years until we found each other again. I've had the CD on repeat for 6 days now and I still love it! I told him we went from Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) to Forever Yours Faithfully. Thank you again.

Hi Steve, You are my all time favorite. I've been listening to your stuff for over 20 years now and I still love it. I listen to the radio for new stuff all the time, but I have never ever found anything like your voice. I have listened to Faithfully probably a thousand times.. and I still can't believe what I am hearing... and still can't figure out how you hit that note! It still amazes me twenty years later. I still listen to these songs as if I just got the CD yesterday.

I really wish there was some video from the Trial By Fire album. The more I listen to it... the more I like it. I can't praise Steve enough. It was Steve that gave me my love and enjoyment of singing.. That's all.. thank you Steve.

When my husband, 49, and I, 38 married two years ago, we introduced each other to "our" bands. His was Fleetwood Mac with the one and only Stevie Nicks, and I proudly popped in the Journey Greatest Hits and introduced him to "my" Steve. Now when he is getting ready for work, he may just as easily pop in that dvd as one of FM. His comment? I can't believe in all these years I never really "listened" to Journey and he has such an awesome voice! Not to mention Neil's guitar licks.

I was brought up in a conservative Christian home, so I didn't have access to MTV or concerts. But I knew what I heard on the radio. I was enthralled when I bought the dvd and was able to not only see my favorite songs from the 80's, but other songs throughout the history of Steve Perry's stint with Journey. Now Journey is coming to my area in September (Nokia Live in Grand Prairie, TX, right by Dallas) and I will get to see them live with the "new" Steve. I'm glad I'll get to see them, but it won't be the same. From what I've heard Steve Perry has been invited to sit in on any concert for a couple of songs, and all I can think of is "Pick me! Pick me!"

However, Steve Perry has given so much of his talent and time to us, it is certainly understandable if he wants to enjoy retirement. Thanks to him and modern technology we can still tap our feet as we drive down the highway or dance around our living rooms. Thanks to all who had a hand in it!

With or without the band he is the voice - the lyrics- the songs we all remember and still enjoy , I just want to say thanks , related to many of the songs and will never put them on the shelf . I've spent the last couple of days with the Greatest Hits CD in my car, blaring. I can't tell you how many people that pull up next to me, or that I drive by that can hear my stereo give me the thumbs up at hearing Journey playing. I'm no giddy girl of a fan,, but I sure would like to hear your voice again in something new. I can't imagine what it would be like to have that kind of a gift.

I got this for Christmas this year. I was beyond happy, especially because I was there back in 1986 at Angels Camp for the Mt. Aire Festival. I can point myself out in both the videos that came from that concert. Still have my old t-shirt and concert stub in my scrapbook...lol. There is no other that has "the voice" like Steve Perry does. I've been in love with the man since I first saw him 1981 and here we are at the end of 2004 and it's still the same! Not many artist have the ability to leave such an impression on someones soul as Steve has... his talent and the man himself is just beyond words!!

Ive been a fan for 18 years and living in Ireland am never likely to hear Steve sing live. My husband bought me this DVD as an early christmas present and when I watched it I will be honest I cried. So many memories, so many happy times, so many years gone in the blink of an eye but closing my eyes and listening, sinking into 'the' voice I felt 17 years of age again and once again alive. Thank you Steve for being my unknowing guide throughout the years and I only hope someday to fulfill my dream of hearing you live. Im forever in your debt.

En diciembre de 2003, antes de Navidad, este extraordinario DVD ya se encontraba en todas las disquerías de Chile. Yo lo estaba esperando con gran expectación desde Octubre, cuando vi su anuncio en la página web de Journey. ¡Para mí fue una increible noticia! Por fin podría ver a mi ídolo, al hombre que me cautivaba con su voz "STEVE PERRY". Entonces cuando ya se encontraba efectivamente en Chile, compré 2 DVDs. Uno, para escucharlo todas las veces que yo quisiera y el otro para la posteridad, para el futuro, para guardarlo por siempre mientras yo viva.

Ese día llegué lo más pronto posible a mi casa después de mi trabajo a verlo y escucharlo, y desde ese momento no he parado ni un solo día. Es mi tesoro más preciado. Quedé impresionada con las interpretaciones:

- "Faithfully", ¡qué manera de transpirar y qué sentimiento!
- "Be good to yourself", exactamente igual, ¡qué maravilla de interpretación!, ¡Steve bañado en transpiración, qué manera de entregarse en el escenario!
- "When you love a woman", esta performance yo realmente quería ver, quería ver al Steve más adulto, más hombre, con su voz más "espesa", más "ronquita", quería ver el video de la canción que había sido nominada al Grammy. ¡Absolutamente cautivante!
- "Can't girl help it", absolutamente arrobadora, exquisita, nuevamente un Steve bañado en transpiración. Es lejos, mi performance favorita. Absolutamente atrapadora.
- "All be alright without you", ¡simplemente inolvidable! Steve con su "commercial look", está de miedo, y sus cadenciosos y sexies movimientos al inicio de la canción me conmueve absolutamente. Todo perfecto.

Todos los días a cualquier hora veo este DVD, especialmente en las noches cuando me voy a dormir. Steve es el último hombre que mis ojos ven cada día. Jamás me cansaré de escucharlo, ¡JAMAS!

Sólo me resta dar mis sinceros agradecimientos a todas las personas que hicieron posible este mágico milagro. Especialmente a Steve, que sabía que tenía una deuda con sus fieles fans de todo el mundo, también no puedo olvidar a los muchachos, Neal, Jonathan, Ross, Steve Smith, Gregg y
Dunbar. Todos son parte de este gran equipo. Todos eran 1 sólo. ¡Gracias muchachos!, también a John Kalodner, a todos, todos quienes ayudaron a que nosotras, las fans, sigamos disfrutando la magia de la música, especialmente la música de "JOURNEY".

If it wasn't for steve perry I could not get through high school in the 80's I had no friends and all I HAD WAS STEVE PERRY to listen to day in day out and never got tired of him singing.I love after the fall, and faithfully, I stll don't have any friends but I will always have journey and steve perry.

Steve Perry has the best voice and musical talent of any musician dead or alive. I have all of his CDs and DVDs, and I could listen to them over and over all day. I have seen Journey three times without Steve Perry, and I have to say that they are a good cover band, but they are NOT Journey. Steve Perry WAS Journey.

i first spotted you on the back of evolution..that many years ago. i first heard you that very same day. i turned on mtv the year it came on air just to find you..to hear you. i traveled to 2 journey concerts for the sole purpose of seeing you..street talk, for the love of strange medicine and greatest hits +5 (can not forget quest for camelot and every cameo you have done with vairous artists) is where my heart followed. i am a return visitor to this website quite frequently. just to learn more about you. i see your eyes and your smile..just as sweet and precious as they were the first time i saw your picture. your talent and achievements have given so much pleasure to so many fans steve. yes, i miss you performing. but i hear you daily and see you everytime i come here, look at my concert photos photos anywhere..you are here in my heart. always. i was a teenager when i first became your fan. won't go into how long ago that was ;o). now that i have rambled..my goal..is to someday meet you..after all of these years of admiring you and your talent..i would enjoy the pleasure of seeing you and thanking you. life is too short not to follow a dream and follow my heart. the youth in me still envies your pillow for being the one you rest your head on and share your dreams with..dream on sweet steve..dream on and rock on!!!!!! love always,, jan....

I love this DVD!!!!! It reminds of the two Journey concerts that I was so privileged to see in Hawaii. The first day that they sold the tickets, I woke up early and was the 10th in line.

It's so difficult to listen to any other music, but Journey with Steve Perry. Whenever I listen to the radio in the car, I always channel surf and try to find a Journey or Steve Perry song....

There simply is no music without Steve Perry! :(

Steve, if you are out there, thank you for your music! You are so missed tremendously....

Well what can I say about this Dvd that hasn't already been said..I got it for my Birthday two months ago and it hasn't come out of my Dvd player yet !!! I too haven't had the
unbelievable pleasure of seeing Steve Perry & Journey in concert so this Dvd gave me a chance to see what an amazing
performance Steve Perry gave on stage !! I melted when I seen him perform "Open Arms " Oh my god what a voice !!! I
have seen alot of concerts in my 40 yrs but I have never seen a performer put so much of himself into his gift of singing as Steve Perry has...In closing if you don't have this Dvd in your collection then you are missing the greatest voice in the world to listen too....From a fan in Newfoundland Canada....LOL to Steve..."The Voice"

I thought that the dvd was just amazing!! I never had the privilage of seeing Steve in concert so the dvd gave me pleasure of watching the concert footage. I have been to many concerts but I have never seen so much energy in my life that Steve shows on stage. It's unbelievable! I have to give a big "THANK YOU" to Steve and John Kalodner for the dvd. It was the nicest gift given to any fan!!

i had the pleasure of seeing steve in cincy and cleveland ohio,,met him in cleveland,,the concert was soooooooooo electrifying, i was just captivated. my eyes followed steve everywhere on stage,,it was NOT easy lol, he moved like a tiger,,very fast, very energetic, very into the music..i've been to many concerts, and none compared to watching steve perry..great great great experience!!!! love you steve!!!!!!!!!!!! this dvd is the best thing,,, ahem,,other then come back steve (subtle hint inserted here heh heh) can't wait for more dvd's,, more steve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I waited w/ such anticipation for the release of this DVD. Steve Perry has a such a phenomenal voice that is truly a gift. The DVD was fantastic and the only down side I could say about it is that it leaves me wanting to hear and see so much more from him. You can see that each decade offers more enrichment in his voice and I am totally addicted! It is my deepest hope that he will come out of retirement and do some more recording for all of us fans.

Thanx Steve! How about some more of such a gooooood thing?

I too have been in love with Steve for a VERY long time.I agree his voice has only gotten richer and warmer and very sexy too. I have never had the extreme pleasure of seeing Steve and I hope to one day be in the front row at one of his shows.The "Voice" takes me away at the end of many hectic days. Steve is my escape to a more pleasant place.

Hola, yo de nuevo. Les quiero contar mi experiencia con el DVD "Greatest Hits". La primera vez que consulté la página web de Journey fue en octubre del 2003 y lo primero que vi fue el anuncio de que este DVD saldría a la venta el 25 de noviembre de ese año. Me puse tremendamente contenta, porque ese día es el día de mi santo, santa Catalina, así que mejor regalo para mí. No podía creerlo!, por fin iba a ver al hombre que me quitaba el sueño. Desde la primera vez que vi casualmente a Steve Perry cantando en la TV cuando era una adolescente, su voz nunca más la olvidé, ni su nariz, ni su modo tan "peculiar" de vestirse. Lo recuerdo con su pelito largo y sus pantalones "pata de elefante", que era muy propio de los años 70'. Y seguí mi vida hasta que el año 1879 me prestaron el cassette "Greatest Hits". Volví a reencontrarme con Steve y con Journey por supuesto. La canción que inmediatamente atrajo mi atención fue "Only the Joung". Empieza cantando con tanta energía, que cada vez que la escucho se me paran los pelos (mi piel se pone como piel de gallina). El canta como los dioses. Realmente tiene una voz privilegiada. Inigualable, muy personal, muy de Journey. Y cada día que pasa mi admiración crece, aunque ya no esté con ellos. Yo por lo menos nunca olvidaré su aporte a la música, y lo bien que me hacen sus canciones, su música, y su imponente voz. Es la mejor voz del rock. Tengo casi toda su discografía y no me canso de escucharlo. Así que ahora que sé que está trabajando en un segundo DVD, lo estoy esperando con ansias para comprarlo. El DVD lo compré el 2 enero de este año y no paro de verlo, a cada instante, en cualquier momento, es más, todas las noches cuando estoy en mi cama lista para dormir, lo veo. Es el último hombre que veo todas las noches y por supuesto duermo como un bebé. Es realmente divino. Steve, gracias por brindarme momentos tan lindos y hacer que mi vida tenga un sentido de ser. MUCHAS GRACIAS!

This DVD is a MUST for any Journey fan. Thank you Steve and John Kalodner. Can't wait for another "Greatest Hits DVD". Steve Augeri is good , but he is no Steve Perry. Made me fall in love with Steve Perry all over again.

The Greatest Hits DVD is a treasure ... something I had always hoped for, but never dreamed would happen!
Only another Steve fan understands how we long to be able to re-live every time we've seen Steve command the stage ... taking us to that wonderland only his voice creates. The GH DVD is our key to that magical musical place.
I will be forever grateful to John Kalodner and Steve Perry for this. :)

I received the DVD for Christmas from my husband.

I just loved it. I really liked the very early live performances. That is when I first got hooked on Steve and Journey way back in the 1970's. I remember some of those from TV. They would come on very late at night, can't remember the name of the show.

Hope everyone else has had just as good of a time as I have looking at such an incredible man.

Aquí estoy una vez más, leyendo las últimas noticias sobre el gran y talentoso STEVE PERRY. ¡Con que satisfacción he leido que está trabajando en un nuevo DVD con el Sr. Herbert! ¡Esta sí que es una gran noticia! Ese Sr. Herbert es un gran visionario y por cierto un conocedor de lo qué es un buen negocio. El sabe que los admiradores y los seguidores incondicionales de Steve somos los más felices. Soy de Santiago de Chile y soy una fiel admiradora. Tengo casi toda su discografía, el DVD Greatest Hits 1978-1997 y lo disfruto cada vez que lo veo. Cuando era una adolescente lo vi muy pocas veces al algún programa de TV, sólo recordaba su inigualable voz y su hermoso nombre y su estilo tan personal de vestir. Con los años y con el dinero que gano por mi trabajo, puedo darme los gustos que quiera y entre ellos está el disfrutar de la buena música de Steve con Journey. Claro que ahora que Steve no está con ellos no me interea seguir comprando sus nuevas produccciones, que les vaya bien, total el camino sólo hay que seguirlo, Steve ya lo dejó sembrado.
Me alegro muchísimo por esta nueva iniciativa, ya pensaba yo que un solo DVD con 18 canciones era muy poco para los más de 20 años que Steve estuvo con Journey. Steve tenía y aún tiene una gran deuda con todos sus admiradores y seguidores. Queremos más de ti, tienes tantas canciones hermosas. Por ejemplo las que están en el CD "Trial by Fire", únicas, con fuerza y sensibilidad. "Castle Burnin", es pura energía y "It's just the rain" es puro sentimiento, obviamente sólo por mencionar algunas. En realidad Steve es un hombre de gran emotividad y creatividad. Por favor no pares, sigue adelante, recuerda, nos tienes a nosotros y nosotros sin ti no somos nada. STEVE, PLEASE, DON'T STOP.
