The cycling plus forum tells me that fixed gear bikes climb better than geared which is why I went for a fixed gear bike - would I have been better to buy geared - I'm planning to do mainly sportives ?

I'm 17 stone (ex rugby player) so I have plenty of power so I think I may be OK climbing.

I use tubulars - is this relevant ?
