Valid points, to be sure. One question, is your opinion swayed by the fact that the current ranks are "incorrect;" that is, in the US Army a sergeant is not higher than lieutenant?

Is your position that you'd like to keep the ones we have no matter what, or just that if we did change them, you would prefer straightforward ones? Something like Guildmaster / Legion Captain / Officer / Operative? (With all due respect, telling them you're a "colonel" in the guild might not impress them either, since for all they know the ranks might start at "General," and colonel could be the very lowest one.)
