you know what's funny, before the show I explained to the competitors in the pre show meeting the problem with the lighting in one spot and I assured them that the judges would move them around so everybody would get a fair look. Again, this was done before the show. Pete Hilburn and the rest of the judging panel did a great job of doing this and not one competitor complained about not getting a fair look, about the bad spot or blamed the lighting or judging for not finishing better. So your point is mute except that I do always recommend trying to walk on the stage before you go on to see where the better lighting is, because all stages have better spots then others, and all the competitors were given that opportunity as well as myself telling them the best spots to stand on the stage as I walked them on stage, as I always do. being the only one on stage I don't get so won't even address that one.
But what I have done is I have attached the emails that I received after the show. You can decide if they seem dissatisfied.
Hi Kent!

Thank you so much for the compliment! Things at work have been nuts because I'm a teacher and our budget failed...so layoffs are coming and what not. I'll get back to you in more detail tonight (things are nuts right now where I'm typing from at work), but I just wanted to say some things real quick.

From the bottom of my heart, thanks so much for all you did to set up that opportunity for us to shine! After expenses are paid for the venue, judges, and help backstage, I can't imagine that you make huge money on the affair. So I'm thankful for all you did to make it so first-class and give it to us in the first place.

I love everything about it...we as competitors couldn't have been treated any better. We all felt like stars in Hollywood being catered to! Man, I loved it. Gotta go now but I'll get back with more later.

Say hi to Michelle and thank her for all she did as well...I know you do this as a team.

Steve
Kent,
As always....I enjoyed competing in NJ Classic this past weekend. You competitions are always so well organized and run smoothly, which is very important when you have a group of starving dehydrated muscle heads . Thanks again and hope to see you in the fall.

Kent: Many thanks for a great well run show. After 30 years ( and 30 less pounds) from my last contest I was in awe of how things have changed (for the better). The venue- the trophies-the competitors- but especially your staff were first class. A special thanks to the gentleman that worked the pumping area in the cafeteria- he did a helluva job keeping things rolling and organized. The bodybuilding show was on my bucket list- a one and done deal- at 54
it was tough getting motivated to diet and train- plus the lifelong stagefright. After competing in such a positive and supportive enviroment I think I want to give it another shot.. Thanks again Joe DiMattia
Hey Mr. Kent!

Great Show this weekend! I had a blast and a great time with everyone there! The show was very organized and fun. Hopefully I will see you again at a pro show in the future! I was definitely pushed to the limit by the end of the night!

Sincerely,
Chris Robertson

Hey Kent! thank you so much for the show. it was a life changing experience for me and ill def be back. hope to see ya soon!

Kent
Thank you very much for all your help during your posing classes. Your show was outstanding. The head judge is definitely # 1 poses all of us to our best without killing us. Your staff was on top of everything keeping all of us up to date, moving us along, preparing us, etc. The prep area is # 1 we all have plenty of space to prepare & get ready. Many shows don't even give you water, thank you for taking care of all of us with the many extra perks. All the competitors are always very respectful & pleasant. It's always nice to be able to look around the room & not question who may not be natural. So happy that you brought the drug testing to your show as well as trying to incorporate it into the usbf. I always feel more relaxed competing in your show's. Keep up the great job, look forward to more posing seminars as well as to competing as a pro in your shows.
Thanks ever so much

Kent,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and Michelle so very much for helping me attain a lifetime goal. I have been a gym rat since I was a little kid and my father led the way to the gym for me at a very young age. What he didn't do was lead me to the promised land of bodybuilding and that is where I felt I had to be. I finally reached this goal and it was attributed to your advice, friendship, coaching and extensive abilities. Michelle always has kind words of encouragement and she makes me feel comfortable in my second home.....Pure Focus! I would love to come back to your show again next year but bigger, stronger, more defined and prepared. I went over numerous photos and I still believe that I beat Jeff Yellin but my opinion does not matter it is the judges decision, so next year I will make sure that I have a better showing and will have no dispute in the comparison!
You definitely know your stuff and I appreciate the advice as I will need much more in the upcoming months. My kids ran the Long Branch Marathon today, I reached a lifetime goal yesterday and my family is happy, healthy and into fitness.....Life gets no better than that!

Thanks again and I will see you in the gym Monday!

Sincerely,
Tom Janicky

Hey Kent,
You are a great promoter. You always think about the athlete. Its obvious that you love the sport and want everyone to have a positive experience. Now for the food...I didn't think that I would get pizza again this year, and I was right, but it is really nice of you to have it there (gone by the time I'm done and I don't eat before the night show. Even when I am fat like I was last night)...
The people you attract to the show are really nice and I left with a couple of new e-mail/facebook friends. I love shows that feel homey, and yours truly has that feel.
I will be back to defend my Battle of the Shore title and I will win. I didn't look anywhere near my best last night but am still so delusional, I really thought I had a chance once I saw the competition. Katrina had dieted since January and I am happy for her. Hating is never part of my game. I am continually motivated and educated by every loss and feel extremely blessed to be competitive even though I am in my 6th decade.
See you in September. That is also the title of an old song and you probably have never heard it. HAHA

kent' thanks 4 another great event. we had a wonderful time. love ur crowds enthusiasm thank u 4 taking such good care of me. I appreciate the early bird fee :-) thanks 4 having the faith that I would show up :-). hope my work schedule allows 4 ur next show :-) –

Hi Kent,
Hopefully this is your first "feedback email" from your awesome show yesterday in Brick NJ. I have to say, you were right about your show being so great....when you came back for the competitors' meeting in the beginning of the day, you truly set the tone amongst everyone involved. You were so nice, down to earth, and right away I knew it would be a great day. you made everyone feel so comfortable, and there was a commradery backstage after that for the rest of the experience....I have been at shows where the promoter was an ***@#$hole, and it would just sort of leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth for the rest of the day. Your personality and assistance back and onstage was much appreciated by myself and everyone involved....keep doing what you're doing, I'll definitely be back for your shows :-)
Thanks for everything,
Laura :-)

I just got back from the pre-j of your show. I was sitting there definitely regretting not doing the bikini as I feel my look would have fit in better there then it did with the NPC bikini. Will be keeping your fall show on my radar if you plan to offer bikini. I also love the way the judges, even with the crappy stage lighting, give all the competitors a fair shake under the "good" part of the stage lights! Nice job on always running a top notch show for the competitors :)

Hey Kent,
I wanted to thank you for having this last USBF show. It ran very smoothly and was nicely organized. Although I was disappointed for not taking the open title, the judges gave me very informative feedback. I have a clearer picture on what I need to work on thanks to their constructive criticism. (I have been to shows before where the judges tell me they don't have any notes on me.) I will be returning in september since I was so pleased with the show overall. Also, give me the heads up if you are running another posing seminar. I feel that last one helped me tremendously. Thanks for everything.

Now go back to your rock and I'll get back to promoting the sport that I love and I'll continue to put on shows whether 10 people show up or 100. As long as they are happy, that's all that matters to me.
Have a nice day!
