I Agree. There is more than one way that Olver can be important to the plot. Birgitte's fascination with him could just be her grasping at straws. I'm not say that there's no chance he's not Cain but don't get your hopes up. The boy already has played a pretty big role in being the reason Mat stayed behind and was given the chance to meet the Daughter of the Nine Moons.

As for the vision or whatever of Thom pulling Moiraine's stone out of a fire, well you do notice how Moiraine is not there in the vision personally while Thom is, right? I'm thinking he'll pass on something of import that she left behind, if he hasn't already. Some people use the excuse that Moiraine said she knew the face of her husband before she died to prove that she's still alive, but, as we all know very well, RJ is pretty good at pulling obscure sayings from throughout the real world and using them. Where I grew up there is a saying/superstition that when an unmarried woman says that she knows the face of her husband she is about to die. If Moiraine did die she would not be reincarnated (in adult form like the forsaken) because she does not serve the Dark One. On the other hand, if she didn't die why doesn't she just wish herself out hm?

We don't actually know that Moiraine's previous visit to Finnland didn't effect the bond between her and Lan. For that matter we don't even know if her trip to Rhuidean did. We only assume from the fact that it is not spoken of between her and Lan or any other characters "on screen" that it didn't happen. It could very well have happened and was just kept between her and Lan, not that I'm saying that it DID, I'm just saying that it could have.

Wow this post like takes me back in time several years. No one has actually posted anything about some of those topics for quite a while. (well actually no one has posted for quite a while period, but you know what I mean right?)

If my English seems a bit rusty, sorry, I've been living in Japan for the last couple of years.
