I saw an "aura" again last night like I did before the seizure in June. As soon as it went away I felt light headed and couldn't even think straight enough to tell my Dad my Mom's phone number. My Dad happened to unexpectly drop in last night about an hour before the aura. I got on the couch just in case I would have another seizure. Thank GOD I didn't. I did take one of those steroid pills hoping it would take away any possible swelling causing that aura. Then I laid down and just rested.

I called the doctor this morning and told him what happened. He wasn't surprised and said that I may have "localized seizures" from time to time from the electric impulses in my brain. I said "even though I didn't lose consciousness?" He said yes. He said that the Depakote (anti-seizure) drug detects that there is a problem and kicks in. That's why I didn't lose consciousness, the drug did exactly what it was supposed to.

I told him I took the steroid drug for the swelling. He told me NOT to do that.

Since my temperature last night only went up to 99.5, he said I can come in today and get chemo.

My Mom's boss knew what was going on because she always asks my Mom how I'm doing. Mom told her and Wendy (her boss) told her to go home. So Mom is here and she will be taking me to chemo today.

My doctor made me feel a lot better about having that aura. It takes away some of my paranoia.

The Man Upstairs is really looking after me. Both times I've had problems... someone was here with me when normally I would have been alone at those times in the day. Thank you LORD!!! And thank You for having my Dad with me!!

I just wanted to send a SPECIAL THANKS to Mom's boss, WENDY, for sending Mom home. I really really really appreciate it!!!! And of course it's always comforting to have your Mom with you when you could really use her. Thanks again!

Sounds like it must have been a bit of a frightening experience. BUT I'm sure you were happy to find out from the doc that it was nothing unexpected, and that the drug was really doing its job. That's good to know! What's the latest on your chemo?
