Just keeping you all informed....

Yesterday was a REAL bad day. I had a major reaction to my drugs and was pretty much to the point I couldn't function. My blood pressure went up to 170/99. Fortunately I was at the doctors office when all this happened. Well it turns out that I took 2 of one medication that I only should have taken one of. I had to see both of my doctors, get radiation, and then have bloodwork. As the day went on there was some improvement but even today I still feel pretty groggy from it all.

I do feel a lot better though. I can function a bit. Imagine trying to function coming out of anesthesia. It's very similar to that. The foggy-ness, unstability, and short term memory loss. It's all there but probably the best day so far.

I have a chart that I created for the drugs. Plus I wrote on each bottle what each drug is for. I don't think I'll make that mistake again. It was too rough of a ride!!

Lunch with Sharon was great. We went to Ruby Tuesday's down here. I got my usual ribs and creamy mashed cauliflower. God I love that cauliflower!! She wants to try to get together for lunch once a week now. That would be really nice. She was good to me today watching out for me making sure I didn't walk out into traffic. LOL!!

Watch those meds!

How is the radiation going so far? Have you put your hair brush in storage yet?

You know, I've been so wrapped up in how I've been feeling from the drugs that I don't really know how I'm doing from the radiation. I just go everyday and get it. I get zapped twice, once on each side of the head for nine seconds each. Then I get off the table and leave. It's a lot easier than when I had radiation in 2000. They put a mask over my face to keep my head in place and they make all the markings on the mask. In 2000 I literally had "tatoo's" on my body. I don't have to change into a gown and they don't expect me to burn like before. So I think this will be easier.

Still got the hair. They are saying it could be next week before it falls out. I guess I'm ready for that. I WILL NOT shave my head in preparation though. When it falls out is when it falls out.

One REALLY hard about this whole process is, they have me on a real strong anti-inflammatory that is a steroid. I am so bloated and puffy. I've gained 10 pounds in two weeks from it. I'm retaining fluid like crazy. That can make you feel miserable even without other problems. It will be nice when I can go off of it. I'll probably feel like they popped me like a balloon.
