Yea, I was up and taking my pills... the right ones LOL. And was checking out the web sites. I was so excited that I got sleep last night that I stayed up for a couple hours then laid back down. I just woke up again. I got another two hours of sleep!! How refreshing.

I wasn't as bloated and puffy last night as I have been. I was still very bloated but not as bad. I think it helped me sleep better. It's actually hard to breath when your neck, face, and trunk feels like it could pop at any second. I think I know how ticks feel. I wake up a lot in the middle of the night with my neck just covered in sweat because it get's so thick and sweaty. I hate that. But my neck wasn't as puffy. If probably helped.

I'm getting to experience all kinds of crap that I've never had to even think about now. Not that I like having to go through it through experience but it sure does make for interesting living these days. It'll just make me a better educator for other people going through similar experiences.

Geez, Stacy, if you keep sleeping like that, pretty soon you'll be like my teenage son--sleeping until 2:00 p.m. He suffers from a medical condition known as LAZINESS.

Since today is Father's Day, I'll share a little good news about my father.

He started chemo with Navalbine last month. I read that, typically, a patient's white blood cell count will drop initially, hitting its low point 10-14 days after treatment begins; then it will climb again, getting back to normal about 21 days after treatment begins. This happened to my dad. He had two treatments; when he went for the third, his white count was TOO low, and the doctor decided not to treat him that week. He later developed a fever; he still had it the following week, when treatment was scheduled. The doctor again decided not to treat him, and ordered a chest x-ray, concerned that Dad might have pneumonia. The x-ray showed no pneumonia. Since the x-ray also showed the tumor, the doc compared it to the pictures from before the beginning of the Navalbine treatment--and it seems the tumor had shrunk a little! Not too much, but the doctor was pleased at the response after only two treatments. Dad did get his treatment this past week. We're all feeling a bit more optimistic now.

That's wonderful news Cliff! I don't like hearing about his white blood counts but I do know that is typical with Navelbine. But it's great that it's working so quickly for him.

By the way, Happy Father's Day to you!

Thanks for the Fathers Day wishes! Patrick managed to force out a "Happy Fathers Day" yesterday afternoon--sounded like it caused intense pain!

My dad's white count is ok again, and he had his regular treatment last week. Hopefully the tumor will continue to shrink.
