AND THE HAIR LOSS BEGINS.... I woke up this morning and discovered that my hair is ready to start coming out. It's not in clumps yet but when I run my fingers through my hair, LOTS of strands are coming out.

Welp, BIG BRO, doesn't look like I'll defy those odds like you were hoping. I didn't expect to but it would have been nice....

It's really thinning now! Still no patches but VERY VERY thin. I imagine it will all be gone by the end of this weekend.

Hi Stacey, We were away when the news came about the brain tumors. We were so sorry to read about your recent battle. Please know that we continue to pray for your full recovery--we pray loudly daily!! We believe you will win this battle---you are so strong Stacey, and there are so many prayers being offered on your behalf. In the meantime we will be happy to hear that the radiation is over, and that you are getting some relief from the side effects of the meds. I want you to know that I do understand some the feeling about the hair loss, however I can't know fully the sadness it brings. My friend is going through that right now for the second time, and she feels just like you. I tell her to think of it as a sign that the treatment is helping her body fight the cancer. I know though that I would feel just like you and my friend if it were happening to me. Please know that I am sorry that you must experience it again also. Your God message is good and so true. You can stand tall, as I know from your web site you have and are still helping family, friends and stranges cope with cancer and their battles. Wishing you a good day tomorrow. Love and prayers. Hi Bonnie!! I'm so happy to hear from you. I've been hoping to get a post from you. You're so inspirational for me. I thought maybe you were having a tough time wrapping your mind around it so I didn't want to email you and bug you. But I'm relieved to hear you were away.

The hair loss is okay. I guess I'm getting used to it. It's not gone yet but I expect it will be by the end of the weekend. It doesn't really bring me sadness. At least this time my hair didn't get a chance to get long. That may have bothered me more if it had. I'm sorry for your friend though. I know it's so tough on a lot of people to lose it. I keep all my hair. This will be my third bag from the three rounds. My dogs just sit there and watch me while I put hair in the bag. I think my dogs are getting used to watching me pull out my hair. They probably think I shed every few years.

I can't believe day 13 is already over. I ONLY have seven more treatments to go. Can you believe that??? The staff at my radiation office is absolutely a joy to be around. They have a lot of fun back in the control room and while I'm sitting there waiting, we just sit there and lough and cut up. I have so much fun when I get there. I sometimes wonder if they aren't used to having patients that are having a good time while they are there. I did tell them today that I actually will miss coming there everyday and seeing them. They said to visit anytime I want.

As for God, I had a discussion with him the other night... out loud. Not that he needs me to remind Him, but I told him that there are plenty of people out there that don't want to live and there are a lot of people out there that don't have what it takes to fight their battles and they want to give up. GO AFTER THEM. I'm not going anywhere, I don't plan on going anywhere, I will be here, I love my love, I have a lot of life to live, I have a lot of educating to do, I have a lot of loving of my family and friends to do, I have my babies, I adore my life and I plan on living it. The harder I get kicked the harder I am kicking back. All I ask from Him is to continue to give me all I need to fight this battle and just go after the ones that don't want to be here.

Thanks so much for checking in. I look forward to hearing from you.

Me again Stacy! Thanks for the compliment, but you are the one that is an inspiration!! Really, your zest for living is always the best under most difficult times!! I know that I have told you before that I believe that attitude has so much to do with battling cancer or any disease. Also,I am glad that you were talking out loud to God. I remember too, about the sermon I shared with you that I learned that God wants to know exactly what we want. I am not shy when it comes to telling him. I many times speak out loud to God on your behalf and also my friends. I tell him about your spirit for living and helping people which is invaluable in today's world, and also I tell him you are too young to be leaving us. So I am glad that we are on the same page with that! So you keep up the good fight and attitude, and I will continue to let God know what we want!

My friend is a hairdresser, and I think that makes it a little harder for her to have the hair come out. It is a struggle for her, but I understand that too. I laughed when I read that your dogs must think that you shed every few years!!! Aren't the dogs just the best! We kept our grandchildren's dog, Sarah over the weekend. Jack and I love dogs, but we don't have our own anymore since we like to travel. So we are always happy to sit one of the kid's dogs.

It was good to hear from you. I hope that tomorrow is a good day for you, and that the last 12 treatments go quickly. Love and prayers, Bonnie

Stacy,
Been thinking alot about you lately and just know I've been praying for you. I so admire your courage and strength - it's wonderful you have a great attitude with all you've been through. Well, I bought a 69 442 - nothing quite like the power in Mark's car. One of these days, I'm going to bring it up to Terry's.
Hope all is well with your Mom, Dad, and Mark.
GET WELL - Love you, Roy

Hey Roy!! Is the 442 a Buick? I love the 442's. They kind of remind me of the super sport Monte Carlo's. You know if you do ever bring it out to Terry's... you HAVE to bring it by here!!

How is the baby these days?

Thank you so much for your good thoughts and prayers. They are everything to me. Admiration is not necessary. I just have a condition that I don't plan on giving into. I don't even want to hear anyone say that "I'm ill". In my mind, no I am not. I just have something that needs to be addressed and I'm addressing it.

Mom, Dad, and Mark seem to be holding up pretty good. At least to my face they are. I really believe they "bounce" off of me. If I'm doing and feeling well then they can feel well. I'm just being me and I naturally have a positive attitude so I'm hoping they are getting that too. Thanks for mentioning them. They have absolutely wonderful to me through everything. My Aunt Nancy has been a God send also. Did you ever meet her? She's Mom's sister that lived in North Carolina. They other sister is Jo.

Hi Stacy!

Hope you're having a good weekend, other than the fact that your hair is falling out! Wow, it sure goes quick once it starts! My dad lost his hair last year, when he was on Taxol, but he really didn't have much to lose! (He didn't lose all of his mustache--but he didn't have to shave very often!) Look at it this way: you won't have to worry about waking up with "bed head" for a while!

Yesterday was Patrick's birthday--my kid is 16 now! Since yesterday was a work day, I made his traditional birthday dinner tonight: london broil on the grill, potato salad, and corn on the cob--and, of course, a cake. Everything turned out great, and he had to admit that his old dad did a great job.

Believe it or not, there are advantages to losing your hair! A nice cool shower feels awesome on the head!! Save money on shampoo and conditioner, less of an electric bill since there's no blow drying, can leave your comb or brush at home, no time or money spent on styling or haircuts, like you said - no bed head, and when it grows back in... you get to try all kinds of new hair styles without having to cut it short to find out what it will look like.

Tell Patrick happy birthday for me. I know his Daddy's is coming up also very soon. Sounds like he had an awesome dinner.

I actually knew that. I don't know why I was saying Buick. Brain fart I guess. I love those things. I remember when I was going out with John, his room-mate Harry drove a car carrier. One time he had the truck parked out front in Churchville with ALL 442's on it. I was in Heaven checking them all out.

I loved having you here the other day. Not a problem that you fell asleep. It gave me a chance to kick back in the recliner. Thanks for taking me over to Ruby's and driving my truck.

Hey Mark, it's been a long time - too long. I was just thumbing down the list of messages and saw your car was in Car Craft - that's just too cool. I well remember the time you took me for a spin.
Hope all is going well for you. Take care.

You messing with me? I can't believe it's taken me this long to write back - where does the time go. The baby is doing great - 20 months and looks just like her daddy - poor child - she's marked for life. I see your Mom's birthday is Thursday - hope you have a great time eating crabs - I sure miss those days.
Yes, I met both your Aunts - wonderful people. Well, it's 12:45 AM and I'm going to bed. Take care - talk to you soon. Roy

Hi Stacy, How are you doing? Your site has been quiet, and when I get on the older messages appear. I have been thinking of you and hoping that your stength and appetite have returned. My friend always has problems with both after a chemo treatment.
I saw a post from Jenny and Rodney. They are close friends of our oldest son, and their children are friends of our grandchildren---a lovely, lovely family. I did not realize that you had worked with Rodney.
I am praying that you are feeling better. Love and prayers, Bonnie
