Be prepared. Here are some pictures from my recent stay at Good Samaritan Hospital. This is what I looked like throughout the Steven's Johnson Syndrome.

OFF TO RADIATION THE WEEK BEFORE THE HOSPITAL STAY

FIRST DAY 7-2-05 IN HOSPITAL WITH FEVER

THEN THE RASH BEGINS

BLISTERS BEHIND AND INSIDE MY EARS

BLISTERS POPPING - YOUCH!!!

USING A STERILE WATER RINSE FOR CLEAN UP THEN AN ANTIBIOTIC CREAM!!

DAY 8

At this point I don't have any pictures of what I look like now. They are still in the camera. But I look MUCH better. The hair is gone completely, no blistering although I still have to do the clean-up of my ears real good everyday so an infection doesn't get in there.

At one point early on, I have two biopsies done on my back to make sure the sure the rash was clearly a reaction to the drug. It was. They wanted to make sure it wasn't another kind of reaction including a food reaction or even tissue dying. It proved drug reaction proving Steven's Johnson Syndrome.

I will be taking this week for "recovery" then I will see my doctor sometime next week to see what's next on my list of "things to do".

Thank you all so much for your prayers, well wishes, and concern. Although it was a long stay at the hospital, I felt like I was in the right place. I had some incredible people around me. The nursing staff and doctors were WONDERFUL!! My friends took care of my house and babies and other miscellaneous stuff, and my family gave me incredible support. Thank you so much everyone!! My gratitude is boundless and I can't even begin to tell you how much your support means to me.
