Hi Cliff. Yes, I've been to LINCOLN quite a few times. I used to go there almost every Friday night a few years ago. Sometimes Saturday nights too. I love watching those Sprint cars. I would go on regular nights that featured the Pennsylvania Posse and I would go to see The Outlaws when they were there. I also used to go a little further up to another bigger track called Williams Grove where The Outlaws raced more often. We had reserved seats at Williams Grove for one year. I think about going to Lincoln once in a while by myself but I just have't done it yet.

Your Dad must be feeling pretty good to install a hot water heater. The fatigue is cumulative so he may get more tired as time goes on and feel less rested.

I did more clearing out back again today. I want to try to get finished before the cicada's show their faces. I don't want to be out there getting bombarded by them if I can help it. I would be right in their feeding grounds so I'd rather just be finished so I don't have to fight them. I guess that pretty much so means I only have the rest of this week before they start coming out. The news gave this schedule:

May 7th - May 14th = they will begin emerging from the ground. Up to 200 per exit hole in the ground!!!

May 15th - May 21st = widespread cicada's in central Maryland

May 22nd - sometime in July = INFESTATION!!

That's the word they used!! I'm not afraid of them but I don't care to get bombarded while I'm outside. I expect quite a few around here since they say infestation is heavier near wooded areas. I suspect Tyler will have a ball since he likes to chase flying bugs or basically anything that moves outside.

I can remember at least 3 "cicada years" in one place or another. I don't recall them landing on me, or really bothering me at all. What I remember most is the NOISE! Those things are LOUD! Since you have the woods adjacent to your house, you'll probably hear them all day, non-stop. I can remember cutting the grass, and being able to hear them over the noise of the lawn mower! Beware--your pups may decide to EAT cicadas! My family had a dog who would eat any that she could find.

I've done a lot of weeding, clearing out brush, and now planting azalea's and marigolds. I've seen A LOT of those exit holes that the cicada's make. If 200 of those little suckers come out of each hole I suspect the infestation is going to be right around my house!! LOL!! This could be interesting. Just as long as they stay off of all my new landscaping!! Always something interesting going on around here! When I get my pictures developed, I'll post pictures of how my little garden has grown. I still have a bunch of those WAVE petunia's to plant and another tray of marigolds. It's going to be colorful. It already is but it's going to be so pretty when the petunia's start blooming!

Azaleas are nice. I have a row of them along my walkway in front of the house. They were in full bloom a few days ago. Now the blossoms are thinning out a litte. As for the cicadas...just be prepared for the noise!
