A fleeting grin brightened my features for a moment at the sight of an old friend, and an idea came to mind. Subduing with difficulty the urge to giggle childishly at the comical sight of a full-grown male romping across the sands to greet me(and the sight became even more amusing as he tried to stop), I forced a feigned condescending expression, looking as though a snobbish old lady might when run into by a servant's child.

No, I couldn't keep a straight face...or a rhythmic breathing pattern. My humorous side finally winning out, sharp snorts of laughter rang out, and I swung my own hip lightly into his in way of returned greeting before soft-spoken(though bubbling with happiness) words were given.
Hey, Hex...I've been...around. Dragged off by some insufferable human claiming she needed this part of her rather small brain to study for finals. Good to see you, too...how's Takara?
Shaking my sensorium impatiently, I removed the alabaster curtain from immediately before my eyes- Hex knew me, I needn't put on some show of great mystery. How great to relax again.
