{He stood, watching the curved lines of the stallion before him. He could still hear his own voice brushing past the chopped blades of grass still as the male replied not with sound but with a blank stare that summed up every end to every conversation and pondered thought the dappled lad had ever collected. His mouth was instantly dry, like the desserts of Egypt, deprived of almost all sources of water. His body stiffened, unwilling to corporate with his commandments to move forward. His eyes glazed over as the realization struck him. And then the femora’s bold voice interrupted his unbelieving thoughts. His eye lids fluttered like the petals of the spring flowers as he gazed her direction and found a question awaited him. He stumbled for the name his mother gave him, finding something he’d known and spoken for so long alien in his mouth. “Aliéné. My name is Aliéné.” But his words were poured forth as his eyes roamed back to the stallion. Okay, so. Now he knew who the target was…but how to approach such a sensitive subject? Should he blurt it out or wait until he was on good terms with the herd ringleader? Only time would tell, but for now he’d remain silent- watching the others for clues of acceptance. }
