He wanted to say something else...but what if the others found out? What if they found him here? Surely they would
destroy anyone who found out about the deed, even an
innocent. Slight shake of the dial cleared such thoughts
from the bay's mind and he walked away from the kind mare
slowly, in search of a nearby tree under which he could sleep.
