Roxie had no time to smirk—but perhaps in a lingual battle she might have. It was obvious that the opposing team saw her as a tag-a-long. And she could see where they would draw such conclusion. Her face was untainted in the actions of Tori, Hexed, Firelight, and the others. They knew nothing of her—only that she was clung to the side of Adrian and fighting his battles. But the bonds of The Exodus were those that the neither Lights nor Evils could comprehend. It was an undying loyalty—protected by selection and training, there was intensity to the passion of the lands. Roxie and Adrian had not even known each other that long—brought together only for their ability to be linguistic and athletic; the top of their game, no doubt, but they had hardly crossed paths before. Roxie was however completely compelled to stand unwaveringly at his side during his troubles. For his were hers…they were ‘we’s’ when treacherous matters had to be handled. Adrian had once spoken to Roxie of a great leader, who asked him what he had done to deserve such blind loyalty. She felt it only just to live up to this aphorism... for she only wished to be asked of the same honor.

Her slick pelt was scintillating from the rain and shining in fractals of fire as her entire body was drenched—quite literally—in blood, sweat, and the tears of above. She watched the wings morph from the mare’s side, and attempted to turn as quickly as she could, still catching horrid cuffs of dust into her eyes. She had put her hindquarters first to the mare, an extreme advantage—for even if she couldn’t see because of the stinging particles, she could kick powerfully, despite it being blindly.

The mare had intended to launch herself at Roxie’s chest—and had she not flapped around her wings, it probably would have worked. But because she gave Roxie just enough time to swivel to her hind, letting the sand pack into her haunches wound and cauterize it for the time being, Firelight was now in a very vulnerable position. As her hooves came up, undoubtedly did her head—the spine of a horse couldn’t contort enough to let her nose remain completely tucked to the depths of her chest. It left enough jugular exposed to give a nasty knock of wind and a cut, but nothing death defying.

And so now, with both hind legs, Roxie let her hooves fly. She squealed as the mare’s hind legs sliced brutally down the tops of her haunches, crossing across the last carve from Adrian’s mishap. The blood opened freely, dribbling onto the land below him and blending to the masses of pre-existing drops.

So Roxie felt the satisfying catch of her powerful hooves against the mare. It had obviously hit her in the front—it had to, there was no way to wiggle about as the mare’s hooves were placed upon her own hind end. But if it had caught her in the chest, which would be severely painful but not life threatening, or in the jugular, which would leave her gasping for a moment or two, the mare did not know. She did know, however, that she couldn’t see—so as she pushed off with a grunt from the mare’s chest area she dove forward a stride or two and pivoted on her front end quickly, to get her bearings. As the mare aforestated, she was now facing Roxie, smirking at her. Roxie however, caught only parts of the mare’s façade—the sand had left her with stinging black spots across her vision. They were now far enough away from each other that both could easily dodge an attack—and could easily reevaluate their plans of reinstating the battle. Or not. It was now left up to Firelight for her choice of action. Roxie only hoped that her ‘swift kick in the ribs’ so to speak, to Firelight, had left her as handicapped as she felt upon her haunches and eyes. The adrenaline coursed through her like alloy; she couldn’t feel the gashes now.

But a bruise tomorrow? Undeniably.

Despite her spotted vision her face remained irrefutably taunting. Oh, leave it to Roxie to always have something snide to say. She didn’t say anything, however; she let an arch of her metaphorical eyebrow do the satirical talking for you. She had heard Lava make her presence known…as a foal, she remembered—and idolized. Undoubtedly, Lavaterra was known as the best fighter in all of CM. And had been since the opening of the game. Before the wolves, before the oddballs, before the humans—hell, before the neutrals—Lava had been there in her prime, sparring her way to the top of the Evils. So what she perhaps now lacked in age, which had taken good care of her, she had overpowering experience. Without blinking, or taking her eyes off Firelight for a second—she was still, mind you, waiting on Firelight to make up her mind (or stop gasping for air lol) about continuing the fight. But her voice was rough and dominant. Not in a disrespectful way—what a childhood idolization she had held on the mare!—but now they were equals in battle, and as Commander she delivered her orders curtly and precisely.

“From what I collect we hate everyone but Adrian—the bay—and I’m Roxie. Welcome to Exodus, Lava. Feel free to pounce in where comfortable.”
