Subject: Midland G7E XT problem

Hi, Im looking for some assistance with a Midland G7E XT; I purchased a pair of these radios in a sealed box with charger etc. one of them is having this problem, the other works fine.

Here is the problem: When I set the radio to use a subchannel (CTCSS Tone) it recieves everything on that channel (the recieve filter doesnt work) so I get chatter from anyone on any subchannel that I dont want to hear.

Question: is there anything I can do to fix this, some menu option or some way to hard-reset the handset? I have tried duplicating the settings from the working handset and also removing the batteries for a few weeks but the problem persists.

TIA
