Yes i am a referee, and have been refereeing for 4yrs, and everyone is entitled to their opinion, and in my opinion maxwell was NOT upto the task.

And in regards as to how he is supposed to get experience, he can do NRL games, just not the games that would consider the top 2. Gavin Badger has been refereeing in the NRL for a few years now, and is gaining experience, and in my eyes is becoming a very good referee. Now has he got this experience from being thrown into a friday night blockbuster, which every year has a bit of fire and history in it???no he hasnt, he has jus been appointed week in week out, doing his job without being in the spotlight.

As a referee i know what should be expected, and dare i say it i do no the rules, but having said that, it was wrong by Robert finch to appoint Jarred to this game in the first place.

so all u whingers who jus sit back and agree with everything that goes on around the ranks of the NRL should have a look a bit further. you have matt checchin and stevy lyons, amongst others refereeing in lower grades and running NRL lines. these two refs are very good referees and should be doing NRL by now for sure. wasted talent.
