Seems simple doesn't it ... to qualify for the above u just have to be too old and unfit to be able to be an on field official anymore ;)

Seriously though, it seems obvious doesnt it, after giving away being an onfield official its the next career step once u give away being a ref or touchie.

Just like cricket, once u stop playing , you then umpire , when u stop umpiring, you start scoring. You move onto a role that is less and less demanding that is more appropriate for your fitness level and age.

All rather simple.
