Subject: The "wrestling" problem

The Laws of the Game state:
10. The play-the-ball shall operate as follows.
(a) The tackled player shall be immediately released
and shall not be touched until the ball is in play.

Now, if this part of the Law was enforced, then there would be no opportunity for wrestling to occur. How many times do you see both the ball acrrier and the tackler arise still in contact, with the ball carrier only being released when both have stood up?

So, time to stop fudging the Laws to pander to Coaches, and return to what refereeing is all about.
