We have seen that the challenge system in tennis has dramatially improved player conduct and attitude towards officials. We will never again see the likes of John McEnroe ranting at linesmen as players now have an avenue to have incorrect calls reviewed in a professional manner, if and only if they truely believe they have been wronged and are willing to risk their challenge. I think we can expect a similar result if such a system was implemented in the NRL.

Players and referees will make mistakes, however if a process is available to reduce the effect of referee mistakes on the outcome of games, then the game will be improved for all involved and respect for officials from players, the media and spectators will increase also.
