Agree but does that mean we dont accept these guys?
If a referee is good enough he or she will make it to the top. The NRL must continue to try to improve the game and this is obviously one idea they have . Unfortunately in my opinion the game at the top level is driven by the $ and if these ideas put bums on seats and viewers infront of tv screens they then can justify their decisions.
Most referees though are driven by guts and determination to achieve regardless of the abuse they continually receive.
its a no win situation so just keep striving to be the best you can. Maybe more ex players might become referees cause what better way can they still be involved in the game.
