Subject: Two stubborn, BUT willing people trying to make it work

I'm 23 and engaged to a wonderful man who has given me a beautiful little boy. Things between us are great most of the time, until we feel threatened by something and then we 'clam' up and start arguing. We are both alike in every way... insecure and scared to commit fully for fear that we might get hurt (we know toooo much about each others pasts).

We both get to a point (after an argument) were we agree that we'll stop doing what ever it is that is causing these stupid arguments. A couple days or weeks go by and everything is fine until... it happens all over again.

I don't know what to do. It's ruining our relationship and we both know that we are soul mates.

What can we do to break this everlasting cycle?
