A message to all fansoffieger.com visitors
I am contemplating not renewing my fansoffieger.com site due to financial reasons.
Should I decide not to review the site, the Fieger Forum WILL still remain in operation because it is a free forum. I also run an email-based Fieger list through Yahoo Groups.
HOWEVER, most visitors access the forum and list by coming through the Fans of Fieger site first. My main concern about deleting the site, it that it will probably decrease new members from finding the forum. Just be sure to save the FORUM address separate from the fansoffieger.com addressess in case I delete the site.
Would you like to help keep the site?
Now, my renewal for the hosting (exp. May 2006) will be $160 a year, cost for renewing the name fansoffieger.com (exp. June 2006) will cost another $25. I have shopped around, and this is the fairest cost I have found for what limits/space I require to hold the contents of the site.
At this time I am suggesting contributions. I have come to the conclusion that some things in life have to come first (bills, health insurance, car payments) before running fan websites (I run more than just this one).
IF I do get contributions, I will communicate to those contributors how much has been raised. If I do not get enough contributions, I will return your money. If I get more than what is needed, I will renew the site for a longer period of time.
IF anyone would like to make a monetary contribution to keep the fansoffieger.com site in operation, you may use Paypal.com to send funds. My email address used with Paypal is: kennedyfollowers@yahoo.com . Contributions can be as little as $5, or as much as you would like. I'm sorry, please do not write me asking if you can send a check, I will not give out my personal address to the public.
If a contribution is made, I will ask each contributor if they would like their name displayed on the Fans of Fieger site as a contributor.
I have run fansoffieger.com and the forum since 1998 without asking for any contributions. IF funds are not raised, I will most likely not continue the site.
In any case, thank you for all being members here, some since the very beginning in 1998!
