Subject: Angel near and far!!!

Our Angel: Damian Lee Gilbert was born May 3, 2002- and passed away June 1, 2005 with his aunt Kelly who would have turned 26 today August 27th. They were in a vehicle accident. She hydroplaned into the other lane and the semi hit them. They did not suffer, Thank God!!! But my baby was only 3 years old. It isn't fair that anyone has to lose a child, especially when they still had such a broad future. Kelly was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger...both seat belts broke throwing them from the truck. THE SEAT BELTS ARE DEFECTIVE IN THE 2002 FORD RANGER!!! It is some what of a comfort knowing that he did not suffer, but knowing that they searched for 3 hours and finally...found him beneath the bumper of the semi, where he had been thrown 1,016 ft...that will not go away. I don't blame God, I don't blame Ford, I blame myself. If i had just taken him with me to my grandfather's funeral he wouldn't have been in that truck. I haven't told my husband I felt this way and I know I should, but I don't talk about it because I still can't believe it happened. Please...if you have other children, be extra careful in your vehicles and never forget to let them know that you love them unconditionally.
