Dear Denise,

You do not have to accept everything that comes along. You, especially, do not have to accept everything that comes along as right. I did not accept being raped as right. And I certainly did not accept the treament the police gave me as right. Denise, again I am being very personal here. But I have a good reason. What you say sounds very much as though coming from a person who has been abused. It is much easier not to think about it. I know this from experience. I come from a dysfunctional family. Both my parents were physically and emotionally abusive. I am the survivor of two abusive relationships. One man tried to kill me. It was so much easier to not think about it. But there is a limit. I had to get out of the horrible cycle. There are many types of abuse. Even though a person may not physically abuse a person, he/she can abuse another person in ways that are just as or most times much more damaging. Love yourself. Know that you can break the cycle of abuse.

Love And Blessed Be,
Theresa
