Dear Theresa and Denis,
I wrote this after attending a talk which a very close friend (guess who?!) was giving. It is a description of the tension and my silent blessings for her at that time.

IN QUIETUDE

In the silence,
A stir breaking through...
Hushed alarm arose,
A moment in suspense;
Was that a hand raised
to interrupt the presenter's thought?
Was that a question asked
to test if someone forgot?

In the background,
An awareness brought up...
Silent prayer said,
A time in support;
Was that a good luck wish
to plant the confidence seed?
Was that a blessing given
to soothe my friend in need?
