Subject: He sighed softly, running his hand down his face as he shifted to sit up on the bed, his gaze out the window for a long moment. "About a year after I met her I really hurt her...and that made me wake up. She wouldn't turn me in and when I was at the hospital I broke down...I couldn't handle it anymore, I was sick, really sick, from all the drugs, and I had nearly..." He cleared his throat, shaking his head and stopping there for a moment. "After that she stayed with me for the worst two weeks of my life. I thought I was going to die the withdrawl was so bad..." He shrugged a bit, looking back to her. "After that, she helped me put my life back together, learn how to live again...." He turned ,taking her hand in his. "Do you understand now?" His voice was earnest. "I love you more then anything in the world Natalie, I need you in my life now and for however long you'll put up with me...then, back then - I needed her....I wouldn't want you to go through that like she did."

  • "I would have though..." She commented softly and absently - though part of her was glad that she hadn't had to, not only for her own sake, but for her father's too. He had always - as all parents usually do - wanted better for her than he and his friends had had. Plus, this way, all they really had was good memories..
