I lived in L.A. for 8 years and I have visited the Ramakrishna center in Hollywood and it does have incredible vibrations. I did not know that the relics were there. It is comparable to any SRF facility in vibrations. There is also the Ananda Ashrama 20 minutes north of Mother Center in La Crescenta founded by Vivekananda chela Paramananda. This is a geourgeous retreat facility like Hidden Valley. It was founded in the teens or 20's. Paramananda was reputed a close chela of Ramakrishna that came at the end of Vivekananda's life to carry on the message. He made this work separate from Ramakrishna organization and they despised him for it, questioned his legitimacy, and still do as I was told when I visited there. How unfortunate but how normal a situation.

Yogananda never mentioned the Ramakrishna org but says somewhere in East-West magazine that Paramananda's retreat is wonderful, he visited, and this Swami is doing wonderful work spreading the love of God. Anyone that looks over the old mag.s will find it around year 1928 I think.

I do not believe for a minute that Guruji tried to hypnotize Prabhavananda. Likely this man was intimidated by Guruji's dynamic spirit. If you read many books on yoga you will see many Indian yogis are afraid to look into a saints eyes for fear of them hypnotizing them. This is all over in Swami Rama's book "Living with Himalayan Masters".

I am quite sure it was Prabhavananda that was quoted in Kriyananda's book "conversations with Yogananda" as saying that "Yoganmanda is a quite good...cook" Kriyananda explained that Guruji always loved Ramakrishna so he put a statue of him in the niche at Hollywood temple. He also had a statue of buddha, st. francis and some others (avatars all according to Daya Mata). The Ramakrishna people had a fit so Guruji took it down. Evidently they have always been jealous of Guruji, I don't know if it is british, caste, or kriya related. I think many Swamis including Kriya based ones in India were and are jealous of Guruji because of the success of SRF. Roy Davis told me about that and said Dhirananda and Premananda, SRF ministers, were jealous of him. Master told Roy not to trust Premananda as he is a "snake".

Kriyananda says many men could not handle Yogananda's strength and were intimidated. Ladies focused on his sweetness and still do in my experience.

According to Satyeswarananda's books Yukteswar had the idea for Yogananda to make a kriya branch in the Ramakrishna order as they had no pranayam. Or scientific pranayam. My guess is if this was true it would not float in the west due to frequent organizational hair splitting. No doubt SRF was to be and one might think Yogananda could do both. Perhaps this is the Indian mindset and possible only on the mind of saints.

The Satyananda book on Yogananda called "Yogananda Sangha" says that Master visited Swami Turiyananda, direct to Ramakrishna. Later Master said he knew Judas in this life and he had been a liberated by the help of Ramakrishna. He said he was a little attached to money early on. This is told in "he Path" book and I have also heard SRF ministers tell this strory very frequently to encourage sadhaks that feel guilty. Perhaps putting the 2 together--Turiyananda may have been Judas. I was told by a Sivananda monk that M was Matthew as well. Vivekananda had a deja vu at the Vatican touching a statue of Paul or Peter's feet. Ramakrishna org. idea is he was one of the two.
