Seers vision guided in the dark, a dark cloud that hung over prismed eyes. Altrez helped her walk, until her hands rested on the feathery statue.

"The boy? ..."

"Yes."

Ariel's hands guided over the featherly stone, feeling the contours of the face.

"...He'll be needed again. I'm certain of it. But not until the etherforces make their next move."

"I know. I feel it. You'll 'see' it best now." Altrez sighed, and carressed Ariel's cheek.

"...see is such a painful word now..." A tear ran down her cheek, prismed eyes gazing off into nothing, cast downward. "Pity...I'll never see the lovely blue grasses of the plains again."

"You will, someday."

"....not any time soon, i'm sure of it." Her hands brushed over the feathery stone again. "If only I were as brave as this boy. Time grows short, and i'm babbling. Take me home..."
