She wanted to scream with fury and howl with hopelessness, the cub's growls cutting into her heart like knives. The poor child shouldn't be here and she railed at not being able to protect him. The threads that bound her were stronger than forged mithril and as unyielding. The spider demon that lurked in the darkest corner of the room chuckled with amusement, the sound was like nails on slate. She kept her face expressionless in the slim hope that this creature wouldn't see how much it cut her to be helpless like this. Silently she prayed for the wolfcub to be quiet, his growls were only serving to amuse the leech that held him. She couldn't use the Weave because she had blocked it to preserve her own sanity, now she wished she could tap into it enough to at least send the wolfcub home. Hope blossomed and stretched out her senses. Just because she couldn't use it to get away didn't mean she couldn't use the threads that were connected to the wolfcub to send him home. Touching the wolfcub mentally, she soothed it enough to wrap the threads more securely around the cub and yanked. Eyes closed in exhaustion, she didn't see if it had worked or not.
