NJHoops reports that Pettinella is transferring to Virginia. I hope this is not so.

[i][color=Red]Reports are that g foot 8 Ryan Pettinella will transfer to the University of Virginia. Pettinella left the Univerity of Pennsylvania this summer and was set to go to the University of Cincinnati. When Cincinnati Coach Bob Huggins Pettinella did and about face and decided to attend Monroe Community College and not play. As a freshman at Penn he averaged 2.7 ppg and 1.8 rpg. Last season he averaged 2.8 ppg and 2.0 rpg. Pettinella was a top 20 all Star at Eastern Invitational Camp a few summers past. [/color] [/i]

It's official-Pettinella is going to Virginia. A good article today on the Penn site about his overall decision process. Do not know how to paste it on this meassage, maybe someone else can figure out how to do that. He mentions that Fairfield was one of his final choices! It also mentions that Huggins still wants him to play for him when he lands a new head coaching job.

Good luck to Ryan...damn shame...I thought he was destined to dominate the MAAC boards with the Stags and MOS...now he is going to ride the pine in Charlottesville...at least he picked an excellent academic school this time!!!
