Subject: Han playing like anything but a freshman
Han playing like anything but a freshman
CHRIS CASAVANT ccasavant@ctpost.com
FAIRFIELD — It's not always easy for a rookie quarterback, in the first game of the season, to walk into the huddle and start telling a group of veterans to follow his lead.
The same can be said for freshman point guards in basketball. If players are accustomed to getting a certain amount of shots and taking them in specific spots on the floor, it may take them some time to warm up to a new floor general.
That is, unless the point guard begins his freshman year like Jonathan Han.

Very good article about JH. Great job by Casavant and the Post. Interesting point made about one of reasons he came here is the strong OOC schedule we play. This is one reason why a few of these games are neccessary inspite of the sometimes painful results.

Han is a good player. There is still some characteristics that he shows from time to time that proves, yes, he is still a freshman. I give the kid credit I really do, but lets not put all the eggs in one basket. He has a lot of work to do, and however he may be 'excellent'to the MAAC...looking at the grand scheme of things...he is still a freshman and has a lot of work to do.

Han has certainly exceeded my expecations. He shows a lot of maturity for a frosh, and the best of all he shows great instincts on the court. I do not know what to make of his defense yet, but he is going to grow and get biggger and stronger.
Interesting comment from TOT "the guys around him have to keep getting better". IMO, the players have to learn that if they move to the right spot that Han will get them the ball.... it might take some more time, but Han does make other players better.

I agree...that Han will get better and better...as he gets older, smarter, and matures on the court. However I feel that too much emphasis is being put on Han and not on other significant players that may make his job on the court just a little better or play just as good a supporting role.

Joestag, I completely agree. Han makes other players around him better because he is the ultimate playmaker of the Fairfield team. He creates the movement, the passes that make for the buckets that help us to win. It just needs to be more consistent so we can start winning games.
